Update: We’re On Our Way

As we approach the end of July and our first month of fundraising, we’re excited to share that we’ve made so much progress in campaign to purchase the building housing Burien Press and make it our forever home. So many people have been shockingly generous with us. The flood of kind words, and financial and physical support has been inspiring and overwhelming at times.

We are are approaching 25% of our goal with everything combined. Our gofundme is sitting at just under 10% of our goal of $150,000 by the end of the summer. What we didn’t expect is how many of you would just stop by and give us cash and checks so help us avoid paying any processing fees with gofundme. In person, folks have contributed just shy of another $10,000. In addition, so many of you have ordered digital gift or stopped in to pick up physical gift cards with the intent of redeeming them some day far in the future. Along with the gift cards, hundreds of people have visited our store and pre orders of merchandise are stacking up.

We still have a ways to go but your support, encouragement, and willingness to help is quite literally making the future of Burien Press possible. Thank you.

Helping us get the word out about our campaign is one of the most helpful things folks can do. Even with thousands of likes and followers, it’s not easy to get our campaign actually in front of folks. So sharing the word both online and in person is will make all of the difference.
